Should we embark on “Slimming Santa”?
Now they want Santa Claus to lose weight. Check out this poem written to the tune of “Here Comes Santa Claus”. I find this really sad, truth be told. Who can’t love our big-bellied Santa Claus??? This is like taking the joy out of a fun, happy part of Christmas for children. I don’t get it, but if anyone thinks “slimming Santa” is a good idea, please share your thoughts, as I’d love to hear them.
Here is the poem:
Here’s glum Santa Claus,
He’s bummed, Santa, ’cause
Now the “kids’ health” pros
Say his fat’s a bad example;
Thirty pounds must go.
Santa’s image needs some slimmage
Lest today’s small fry
Emulate him, put on weight,
And grow up far too wide.Eat less, Santa Claus;
Hit the health spas,
Hire a trainer, quick.
Otherwise the media might
Deep-six old St. Nick.
Start that diet, jog each day;
We want you thin because
That clears more space within your sleigh
For gifts to bring to us.
